A New Issue with “Don’t Ask”?

April 1, 2008

First things first, I have absolutely no problem with this change in policy, I just pose a question.

The Associated Press (via MSNBC) is reporting that married soldiers who are serving together are now able to share bunks at night. In addition to the fact that this gives them private sleeping quarters (where as everyone else has to bunk), and the potential problem with pregnancies as the article points out, I have to wonder if anyone will raise the issue of the unequal treatment this creates for those who “don’t tell” that they are in a unit and serving with their partner.
