McCain on Afghanistan

February 25, 2009

I don’t criticize McCain for speaking his opinion and I agree changes are needed.  However, these policies are being reviewed and revised as I type.  What I find interesting is that it wasn’t long ago that members of the minority party were called horrible horrible names for saying we were losing a war.  I guess once your party is no longer “responsible” for the war, it’s ok to say we’re losing.

The Senator delivers fiery remarks to the American Enterprise Institute, calling for an overhaul in U.S. strategy toward the Mideast country.  “When you aren’t winning in this kind of war, you are losing… Let us not shy from the truth, but let us not be paralyzed by it either.”

No members of the minority party were called what they were for fabricating that we were losing a war. Nobody is in doubt that we’re not succeeding in Afghanistan; the dispute is over what to do about it.
