Maine House is Next

May 4, 2009

Tomorrow the Maine House will be voting on LD 1020, the bill for marriage equality that passed the Senate last week.  If the House votes to pass (as expected) without amending, the bill will move to Governor Baldacci’s desk.  Baldacci hasn’t said for sure if he’ll sign or veto the bill, but reports last week seemed to hint that he was leaning towards supporting it–seeing it as a civil rights issue, not a religious or political one.
